Smile Makeovers

A smile makeover goes beyond responding to dental problems as they arise. A smile makeover is a comprehensive plan that’s uniquely suited to your own facial features and aesthetic preferences. If you live in Kirkland, Bellevue, or Redmond, Washington, or the surrounding areas, we look forward to serving you.

What Is The First Step?
Communication is vitally important in the smile makeover process, which is why at the first consultation we will listen intently to what you want to accomplish. We want to know what you would like and what you want for your smile. Once you’ve shared your goals, we will prepare a plan for treatment. Cosmetic dentistry offers an amazing array of lifelike tooth restorations and treatments.

Veneers

You greet the world with your smile, and if you have discolored, uneven, or cracked teeth, it may be difficult to do so confidently. The good news is that we have a solution for you. Using veneers, we can help you change the color, shape, length, alignment, and spacing of your teeth.

What Are Veneers?
Veneers are a dependable, affordable solution to imperfect smiles. They are thin, tooth-colored porcelain shells that cover your natural teeth. Long-lasting and natural-looking, they can protect your teeth from further damage and give you the beautiful smile you desire.

Are Veneers Right For You?
Veneers can help with any of the following issues:

  • Worn down, chipped, or broken teeth
  • Stained or discolored teeth
  • Uneven or irregularly shaped teeth
  • Gaps between teeth

Whether our doctors are helping fill in a gap, lengthening a worn-down tooth, or covering cracks or chips, veneers can give you a fuller, more symmetrical smile — one that you can show the world with confidence.

Teeth Whitening Trays (In-Office)

There are many different ways to whiten your teeth. Our doctors recommend using simple whitening trays because of the quality of whitening and the low cost compared with other methods, as well as the convenience of being able to do it at home.

Teeth Whitening Trays
Whitening with trays (sometimes called bleaching) is a type of professional whitening that uses custom-made trays and whitening gel. We place a whitening gel in a custom-fitted tray that fits perfectly over your teeth. As the peroxide in the gel breaks down, hydroxy radicals help whiten your teeth by removing stains. Unlike whitening strips, this process whitens all your natural teeth and contains ingredients intended to provide maximum comfort. This at-home process generally takes ten to fourteen days, although you may notice results in as little as three to five days.

Teeth Whitening Take-Home

Our doctors recommend using the Opalescence whitening system. It is a professional alternative to over-the-counter whitening options. It’s a simple, fast, and great-tasting way to whiten a smile. It does not require impressions or custom trays. It’s ready to go right out of the package.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin (a type of durable plastic) is applied to the tooth and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to restore or improve a person’s smile. Bonding is done to repair a decayed, chipped, fractured, discolored tooth. If you live in Kirkland, Bellevue, or Redmond, Washington, or the surrounding areas we would like to serve you.

How Does Cosmetic Dental Bonding Work?
Dental bonding is a rather simple procedure. First, our doctors will clean the area where they will apply the bonding resin. Then, they will choose a resin that matches your tooth color. Afterward, they will attach and mold the resin to the shape of the tooth. The resin is applied layer by layer until the area has the desired look. They will then harden the resin using an ultraviolet light. Once the resin has hardened, the last step is to make sure that the tooth looks correct. The final step is to polish the tooth.

Anyone interested in dental bonding should be aware that resin can stain and is most likely to do so within the first few hours after treatment. This is why it’s important that you avoid drinking liquids like coffee, tea, or red wine. You should also not smoke during this time.

Gum Contouring and Reshaping

If you lack confidence in your smile because of either excessive or uneven gum tissue, gum contouring is a great option for giving you healthier, more attractive gums. Gum contouring is a minimally invasive oral surgery procedure that gently trims and reshapes excess gum tissue, focusing only on areas where the gums extend too far over the teeth.

What are the Benefits of Gum Contouring and Reshaping?
Aside from a more attractive smile you can have confidence in, gum contouring has longterm benefits for your oral health. Excess gum tissue can actually increase the risk of gum disease, because it leaves deeper pockets where bacteria can hide and multiply. When that extra tissue is gone, it becomes much easier to clean that bacteria away with regular brushing and flossing!

Is Gum Contouring Right For You?
We want all of our patients to have confident, healthy smiles. There’s no need to live with a gummy smile for the rest of your life.
